Monday 12th December

As you all know this is the first proper blog post on here. It's exciting really I guess, well for me anyway!! I thought I would write about  something which has been bothering me lately and until now I wasn't quite sure who to talk to about this. Basically one of my best friends is Bisexual. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that! She is perfect and luckily is not embarrassed by the person that she is. Let's call her Lottie because it is nothing like her real name!!
One of our other best friends recently got into a relationship with a boy who isn't actually the nicest person but unfortunately she doesn't see it. :( Me and Lottie really do not like this boy but cannot say anything with out hurting our friends feelings. She does however know that we aren't mad for their relationship. The boy likes to rub it into our faces that we are single and not in a relationship like them even though we have both recently had 'offers' but turned them down as they were not the right person for us. He will stand there and wrap his arms around her when we are in the middle of a conversation or pull her away so we cannot spend time with her without him. It feels like we're being pulled apart if I'm honest. Anyway back to the point of this post. When this boy sees something which he doesn't like he refers to it as 'Gay'. I honestly hate this! I DO NOT understand how and why people think it is sociably acceptable to refer to anything as 'gay'. It is like they think there is something wrong with having a different sexuality as someone else, which is completely disgusting if you ask me!! When confronted he says he is just joking around and it doesn't actually mean anything. Not everyone is going to take this as a joke. People need to think about that. How would you feel if suddenly everyone started to make fun of your sexuality and call it a joke.
I didn't know what to do or who to say any of this to because not many people would actually understand or they would think that I am being completely ridiculous and am blowing this whole concept. Anyway I hope anyone else who feels the same way about what I have said now does not feel alone and you are more than welcome to comment below any of your feelings. But any disrespectful comments will be deleted.
